Why Plan a CellarHave you ever thought about starting your own cellar, or adding to an existing one on a regular basis? The Masters of Wine at Hicks and Don have provided expert advice for over forty years and created some of the most rewarding cellars, both for drinking and investment. |
Why start a Cellar Plan with Hicks & Don?The Cellar Plans principal aim is to secure immature wines that will, with time, benefit from maturation and prove exceptional drinking. You will buy the majority of wine Ex Cellars or en primeur, thereby securing the pick of the crop at the best price when the wine is still in cask and lying abroad. |
Benefits of being a Cellar Plan CustomerYou have access to over 40 years experience of buying, selling and laying down wines in the form of Hicks & Dons exceptionally knowledgeable cellar Advice team, and some of the most experienced palates in the country. Our buyers Ronnie Hicks, Robin Don and Anthony Barne are all Masters of Wine who have probably been assessing vintages en primeur for longer than any other buying team in the business. |
InvestmentA huge amount has been written on the investment potential of wine. Long haul investment tends to centre on Bordeaux and is it fair to say that money can be made if you pick well, generally buy 'en primeur' and have enough to spend in the first place. However as with any investment and the more so with wine which is not covered by any regulatory body, there is absolutely no guarantee that you will realise a profit. The only result that can be guaranteed with any confidence is a cellar full of wonderful wines. |
PaymentHicks & Don's Cellar Plans are funded by standing order, with contributions from as little as £100 per month. This amount may be adjusted at any time by the completion of a new standing order mandate. Should you wish to cancel your Cellar Plan you can do so at any time. |
Wine Storage & Stock WithdrawalWe can arrange to store your wine in the bond warehouse at Corsham, Wiltshire with our associated specialist storage company R.S. Hicks Ltd. Please ask for terms. Alternatively, customers can decide to have wine delivered to their own cellars. |
